I also really have to mention how the pacing and feeling of this game is top notch. I would be remiss to not mention how well done the game itself is, I have encountered zero issues on my old computer, the artwork is fantastic, and you can tell a lot of love has gone into making this game. I also see how some people say that they have died in the first few chapters? I honestly thought that we couldn't because I was shocked that I hadn't yet, so I'll be going back and seeing how that plays out as well. I will go back and see where those other options take me, which does give it more replay value. I did, however, not realize that you could romance characters until I went back to the store page and apparently had just straight up avoided those options (we're in the middle of the woods talking about dead family and missing livestock and I met you MAYBE four hours ago, maybe not the best time for me to stare deeply into your eyes, I might die or you might find it creepy.or another character that I met one day prior just having the option to straight up tell them they're hot while talking about their hopes and dreams?)
Even the animals all have their own distinct personalities (if you choose speaking to animals as a skill). I really appreciate the characters and how fleshed out they are, and how each seem to have their own goals.
I'm actually pretty surprised at how frequently the skills come into play, not sure if I just chose lucky or it's the same for each. Since it had been so long since I read the game page I was not expecting to choose a skill set, but each skill seems like it would have been useful and/or pushed the story in different directions. I pretty much went into the game blind and definitely recommend that. I keep describing bits of what's happening to my partner and he keeps asking "what the hell kind of game are you playing", so even just that has been entertaining. Played the first chapter, it was longer than I expected but I was hooked and like "alright I'll buy the rest of it" and finished off the available story the same night. Very excited to see what comes in the next few chapters.Īlright so I downloaded Chapter 1 for the demo and then forgot I had it until I was looking for something kind of casual and not too long to play last night.

I bought it on sale but shit there is A LOT of work put into this game, it is thorough and pretty unique and I would have bought it full price knowing what I do now. Rambling review below, but tl:dr is that I went into this game pretty blind and definitely enjoyed it, then found out some more stuff and am coming back to replay it.
